Head Instructor Roger Gracie - 2nd Degree Black Belt

Roger Gracie Gomes is the son of Reyla Gracie (daughter of Carlos Gracie Sr.) and Mauricio Motta Gomes (one of the 6 BJJ Black Belts of the legendary Rolls Gracie) and part of the legendary Gracie Family . He is currently a Black Belt under Carlos Gracie Jnr. Roger is one of the most exciting prospects on the Jiu Jitsu circuit at the moment. He is following in his father's footsteps in fast becoming one of the world's best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling exponents. Roger is one of the most successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Wrestling exponents active today, enjoying an intense rivalry with many of the other high level grapplers. His most notable achievement to date is winning the prestigious Abu-Dhabi Combat Club Championships in 2005, taking 1st Place in the 88 - 98kg and Open-weight categories, submitting all 8 opponents, a feat that had not previously been achieved.

 

Instructor Thomas Genske - Brown Belt

Thomas began training BJJ in June 2000 under Ralph Gracie in San Fransico, California. Due to his studies and work, he travelled constantly which gave him the chance to train with and gain experience from many great people around the globe. He trained with Renzo Gracie and Fabio Clenente in New York, receiving his blue belt. Thomas then moved to Spain to train under Robin Gracie where he was awarded his Purple. In January 2009 he was promoted to brown belt by Roger Gracie and given the honor to teach at the Roger Gracie Academy Wimbledon. There he shares all he has learned from his many years dedicated to the art to the great guys and girls at the Academy.

 

Assistant Instructor Thomas Buckmaster - Blue Belt

Thomas began his training at the Budokwai in Fulham under Jude Samuel. Luciano Cristovam and Nicolas Gregoriades were his next teachers, who's guidance helped him to develop as a better fighter. Thomas was awarded his Blue Belt in November 2007 by Roger Gracie. Shortly after he went on to take gold at the Blue Belt 88.6kg category at the SENI Gracie Invitational European Championships. He now trains under Lucio Rodrigues at the RGA HQ during the day and helps at RGA Wimbledon during the evenings.
